City House, Croydon
Complete fire remediation of external facade
City House is a 14-story apartment building on London Rd in the heart of Croydon. The façade consisted of flammable phenolic insulation cladded over with high pressure laminate panels, timber cladding and I-line profile at slab level. LCS was tasked with the complete removal of the existing façade to the bare SFS.
The bare structure was then water sealed with fire rated EPDM and mastic, this included all fixings, window reveals and sheathing board joints. The building was then reclad with new Tyvek breather membrane, Rockwool Duoslab insulation, Siderise fire barriers, Hilti stainless steel support framework with A2 rated Rockpanel cladding and Valcan Vitradual timber effect aluminium planks used to replicate wood and keep the existing building aesthetics.
Because of the building flat structure, mast climbers were used instead of scaffolding improving costs and reducing the time on site. The site was landscaped following the removal of the mast climbers and inspected at handover.

Budget and Design Review
Conceptual remediation proposals are developed, project brief, programmes and budget, site surveys and a project execution plan.

Step Two
Technical Design
Detailed technical drawings, specifications, and product specifications are prepared for remedial work

Step Three
Consultation & Communication
Consultation of all works & programmes involved with client and consulting engineers along with communicating the full remedial works to all stakeholders, including residents.

Step Four
Installation and Remediation
Site setup and remediation process begins. Procurement of materials, fabrication, on-site work, remediation with continuous resident communication.
4.
Step Five
Handover
The remedial works are completed and works handed over to the client, including final inspections and operations and maintenance documentation and quality assurance reports. Site setup removed.
